The City of Toronto’s Fire Services and the Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club will make an announcement tomorrow about a joint initiative aimed at eliminating deaths in Toronto from fires and carbon monoxide poisoning. Fire Chief Matthew Pegg and Darryl Sittler of the Toronto Maple Leafs alumni will speak.

This new initiative aims to encourage homeowners to test their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms monthly as the key step in ensuring safety from fire and carbon monoxide leaks.
