Today, Toronto Paramedic Services (TPS) Chief Bikram Chawla and TPS leadership welcomed 23 new Primary Care Paramedics (PCP) to the City of Toronto and celebrated 50 Advanced Care Paramedics (ACP) who recently graduated from the intensive training program.
Additionally, as part of today’s ceremony, Long Service Medals and Bars were awarded to seven dedicated TPS employees with a minimum of 12 years of service, with each additional 10 years of service being recognized with a Bar.
The PCP graduates, having successfully completed comprehensive orientation and training, now join TPS’ dedicated team of professionals who deliver exceptional pre-hospital care to the city’s residents and visitors. They serve alongside the highly skilled ACPs who bring the expertise of a hospital emergency department directly to patients’ bedsides, enhancing emergency medical care and clinical outcomes across Toronto every day.
Becoming a paramedic demands extraordinary dedication, resilience and the ability to perform under pressure. TPS selects its paramedics through a rigorous recruitment process and welcomes individuals who bring a diverse range of skills, experiences and a shared commitment to public service.
