The joint City of Toronto and TTC Vax And Ride COVID-19 vaccination campaign was a huge success, with Toronto Public Health administering more than 1,430 COVID-19 vaccines from September 8 to 25 at 48 immunization clinics inside eight TTC subway stations.
The family- and youth-friendly clinics provided first and second doses, boosters and children’s COVID-19 doses to eligible residents age five and older on a walk-in basis.
The Vax And Ride locations allowed for targeted reach across the city and contributed to Team Toronto’s equity-focused, hyper-local mobile strategy to bring COVID-19 vaccination opportunities to places residents live, work and play.

The new COVID-19 bivalent booster is available at the six City-run COVID-19 immunization clinics. Booked appointments are strongly encouraged and walk-in appointments are available based on clinic capacity. More information and details about clinic locations and hours is available on the City’s COVID-19: Where to Get Vaccinated webpage. Residents can also get their COVID-19 doses at Indigenous-led vaccination clinics, select primary care offices, pharmacies across the city and other Team Toronto health care partner clinics.
COVID-19 activity is expected to increase this fall and winter, and a fall booster dose is recommended for all people age 18 and older regardless of previous doses. The bivalent vaccine may better protect against Omicron variants and will provide additional protection this fall and winter.
