Earlier this month, the City of Toronto kicked off its Vax The Holidays campaign, encouraging all residents to get their influenza (flu) and next dose of COVID-19 vaccines before gathering for the holiday season. The holiday vaccination campaign has now administered more than 3,779 COVID-19 and flu vaccine doses through mobile clinics and 14,587 doses at City-run immunization clinics.
Vax The Holidays is continuing throughout December. The campaign brings COVID-19 and flu vaccination clinics across the city, setting up in Toronto malls and popular community hubs. Today, Vax The Holiday teams will be at Toronto Public Library’s Weston Branch, Rexdale Community Hub, Yorkgate Mall and Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre.
Toronto Public Health (TPH) strongly encourages people to receive vaccinations during the month-long campaign to guard against serious illness at a time when hospital emergency departments are filled with people struggling with respiratory illness.

Quotes:
“I encourage all Torontonians who have not done so already, to get their COVID-19 and flu vaccinations before the holidays. With dozens of locations and hundreds of pharmacies across the city, Vax the Holidays is easier and more convenient for all residents to access vaccinations close to where they live.”
– Mayor John Tory
“One of the best ways to protect ourselves and loved ones this holiday season is through vaccination. When you gather with those outside your household, use all the layers of protection – including vaccination – and have a safe and healthy holiday season.”
– Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto Medical Officer of Health
