Commercial Dog Walker Permit

Permits are available for individuals to walk four to six dogs on a commercial basis. Permits are issued according to the Commercial Dog Walker Permit Policy
Obtain or Renew a Permit
To obtain or renew a permit, visit a Parks, Forestry and Recreation Customer Service Office with the following:
- Completed Application Commercial Dog Walker Permit
- Personal identification
- Permit Fee of $272, which includes HST
- Evidence of Commercial General Liability insurance coverage for the full term of the permit in the amount of $2,000,000 for bodily injury, property damage and personal injury liability, and including the City as an additional insured.
A photo of the commercial dog walker will be taken at the time of permit purchase and recorded on the client’s account.
If you are renewing, please bring your old permit with you at the time of renewal.
Enforcement, Suspension and Appeal Process
Violations of the Commercial Dog Walker Permit Policy and non-compliance with Municipal Code Chapters 608, Parks and 349 Animals will be recorded and tracked by Parks, Forestry and Recreation for further action if necessary, including permit suspension.
A permit holder whose commercial dog walker permit has been suspended may appeal the decision of the General Manager of Parks, Forestry and Recreation, and request to be heard by the Commercial Dog Walker Permit Appeal Committee. A non-refundable fee of $200 must accompany the request.
