MyToronto Pay

MyToronto Pay is an easy and secure service that has been used to make over 700,000 payments to date. MyToronto Pay, is a collaboration between the City of Toronto and PayIt. Property tax and utility bill payments can be made by electronic funds transfer with no convenience fee, or by credit card or debit card with convenience fees charged by industry. Unlike paying through your financial institution, MyToronto Pay provides additional features like eBilling and pre-authorized payment for your utility bill.

Pay Through Your Bank or Financial Institution

Step 1. Locate Account Information

For property tax payments you will need your property tax roll number and for utility bill payments you will need your account number and client number.

Step 2. Set up the City of Toronto as a Payee

To make a payment to your tax or utility account through online banking you must set up the City of Toronto as a payee. If you need assistance contact your bank or financial institution directly. For your convenience, the following banking websites and payee listing are provided below:

Vacant Home Tax

You can pay the Vacant Home Tax at banks or financial institutions through online banking, telephone banking, at an automated teller machine (ATM) or in-person.

To register and pay through online banking:

  • You will need your 21-digit assessment roll number from your Vacant Home Tax Notice.
  • To register and pay through online banking:
    • Sign in to your financial institution’s secure website and select the payee “Vacant Home Tax Toronto (City).
      If your bank does not have this payee listed or you are having difficultly, please contact your financial institution for information.

Step 3. Make Payments in Advance

Please make payment a few days in advance of the due date to ensure payment reaches the City prior to or on the due date.
