Construction Hubs are a Vision Zero measure to improve road safety and coordinate the public right-of-way around areas in the city that have a dense concentration of construction activity, including:

  • private developments, such as condo building
  • capital construction projects, such as utility, water and road works
  • transit expansion projects

Each area has a Construction Hub Coordinator who:

  • conducts logistical planning of the right of way
  • coordinates resources to manage work zones
  • supports developers, businesses and residents with “single point of contact” resolution
  • reviews and comments on Construction Management Plans
  • connects travellers with real-time information
  • forecasts changes in the neighbourhood and collaborates with enforcement officers
  • communicates impacts early and often and to key neighbourhood stakeholders
