We are Toronto Elections and we're here to provide the information that is needed to understand the electoral process. We're also an excellent resource for candidates and voters to find out what they need in order to run for office or how to exercise their right to vote. What's new
2010 Municipal Election Accessibility Plan
The 2010 Municipal Election Accessibility Plan supports and strengthens the City's commitment to the needs of persons with disabilities. The Plan's focus is to ensure that electoral services are accessible to all electors and candidates, to identify and eliminate barriers and to create a positive voting experience. This plan will be improved and updated as new opportunities are identified or become available and the City Clerk welcomes feedback to ways in which the City can improve the delivery of an accessible Election.
Informative video and audio files now available!
Watch our "How to Vote" video showcasing what you will experience upon arrival to a voting place. For electors that need assistance in casting their vote, we have added "how to" videos for both the iVotronic Touch Screen Terminal and the AutoMARK Voter Assist Terminal. The technical audio files for the Touch Screen and the Voter Assist Terminal will help identify the physical form and various features of the machines.

"Bring It. By Ballot." poster contest
Calling all Toronto youth between 14 and 24. Enter the "Bring It. By Ballot." contest by designing an attention-grabbing poster to raise awareness about the 2010 election among youth in Toronto. Submit your entry between May 17 - August 6, 2010 and you could win cash prizes and have your winning poster displayed around the City.

Are you currently on the voter's list??? The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is responsible for producing the City's preliminary list of eligible electors. Find out more about the voters' list.

Making a Difference for Kids: Running for Election as a School Board Trustee. In preparation for the upcoming election, the Ministry of Education has developed an information guide for trustee candidates and communities.
Municipal Elections Act, 1996 amendments
As of January 1, 2010, there have been several legislative amendments to the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. Changes include, but are not limited to: key dates in the election calendar, the needs of candidates and electors with disabilities, campaign financing rules and candidate contribution limits. The Act will require voters to show identification when they vote and all voting locations must be accessible to voters with disabilities.
