"Bring It. By Ballot"
2010 Poster contest winners!
In 2010, Election Services held a contest called "Bring It. By Ballot" for 14 - 24 year olds to design and submit a poster of their own creation that would be used to promote the municipal election to youth of all ages. On September 4, 2010 a bold, colourful design by Toronto student Shaikh Faraz Safdar was selected as the winner.
Shaikh's poster design was chosen to encourage youth to take an interest in the 2010 election and help promote voting in general. The poster delivers the message "Your vote is your voice. Speak up 10/25/10" in thick black text that stands out from a playful, almost mesmerizing, red, orange and yellow graphic background. News release (PDF).
Toronto Elections will be holding more contests for youth in the near future.
