About Toronto Beaches Water Quality
During the summer, the City's beaches are tested for water quality and are staffed by lifeguards. If the E. coli levels in beach water are high, Toronto Public Health will post signs warning against swimming.
Look for these signs on the beach to tell you whether it's safe to swim:
In 2005, some City beach names were merged to help identify the active use areas and to maintain the historical significance of these beaches. The newly merged beach names are: Sunnyside Beach (Sir Casimir Gzowski, Sunnysisde and Budapest Park); Woodbine Beaches (Woodbine Ashbridges Bay and Beaches); and Kew-Balmy Beach (Kew and Balmy beaches).
