A rear facing infant-only car seat is for infants from birth to approximately 22 lbs (10 kg) or 29 inches (74 cm).
This seat is designed to support and protect the infant's head, neck and spine by evenly spreading the force of a crash or sudden stop across the child's back.
Infants are at greater risk of injury in crashes because their heads are fragile, their neck bones are soft and the ligaments that help support the neck are easily stretched.

Safety Tips:
- For all car seats, check the tips, for choosing the right car seat, installing and using it safely and other safer ride ideas.
- Always refer to manufacturer's instructions for how to install and use.
- The harness straps for this type of car seat should come out from the seat at or slightly below the child's shoulders.
- The harness straps should be flat and snug with only one finger fitting between the harness and the child's collar bone, and place the chest clip at arm pit level.
- "Add-on" products are not recommended and may include head supports, harness comfort pads, and shoulder belt positioning device. These products have been designed to be used with the car seat, but have not been supplied by the manufacturer.
- Do not use an infant car seat as a crib.
- When an infant grows out of the infant only seat, they may still have to move into another rear-facing seat that accommodates their weight and height such as a rear to forward-facing seat.
