Walk into Health  Why walk?
It's fun and it's free!

Adults 18-64 years of age need to do at least 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per week.

Walking is an activity that can be done anywhere at anytime and it will help to improve your health.

What's happening
Winter Walking
Canada's winters are long but they shouldn't keep you from going for your walks. Outdoor exercise is one of the best ways to avoid seasonal affective disorder. Dress warmly in layers, wear waterproof shoes or icers (anti-skid detachable soles) for better traction in snowy or icy conditions.

Toronto's Leslie Street Spit, Toronto Islands, High Park and Toronto ravines are some good places to walk in winter. Check these free guided nature walks.
Walking/Hiking Events
Outdoor community events can be a great walking opportunity for the whole family or groups. A calendar of guided or self walking/hiking events are scheduled throughout the year in Toronto ranging from a fundraising walkathon, heritage walks, and neighbourhood walks to nature walks in the park. See calendar of events.
