DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST PURSUANT TO

THE MUNICIPAL CONFLICT OF INTEREST ACT.

DEPUTATIONS/PRESENTATIONS.

COMMUNICATIONS/REPORTS:

APPOINTMENTS TO THE GREATER TORONTO SERVICES BOARD.

1. City Clerk

Recommending that the Striking Committee give consideration to Members' preferences outlined in Schedule 1 and report, as requested by City Council, to the next regular meeting of City Council to be held on November 23, 1999, on any proposed changes to the membership of the Greater Toronto Services Board.

Advising that City Council, at its meeting held on October 26 and 27, 1999, referred a Motion respecting the membership of the Greater Toronto Services Board by Mayor Lastman, seconded by Councillor Ootes, to the Striking Committee, with a request that the Committee report to the next regular meeting of City Council to be held on November 23, 1999, on any proposed changes to the membership of the Greater Toronto Services Board.

2. APPOINTMENTS TO THE CANADIAN NATIONAL

EXHIBITION ASSOCIATION (CNEA).

Recommending that the Striking Committee give consideration to Members' preferences outlined in Schedule 1, and recommend to City Council the appointment of:

(1) 16 Members of Council to the Canadian National Exhibition (CNEA), Municipal Section, for a term of office expiring on November 30, 2000, and until their successors are appointed; and

(2) 5 Members of Council to the CNEA, Board of Directors, from among those who were appointed to the CNEA, Municipal Section, for a term of office expiring on November 30, 2000, and until their successors are appointed.

3. APPOINTMENT TO INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL FOR

LOCAL ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES (ICLEI).

Councillor Joan King, Seneca Heights

(November 8, 1999)

Advising that Councillor King's term on the Executive of ICLEI will expire in August 2000; that it is important that the City of Toronto have representation on the Executive, especially since the World Secretariat is housed in Toronto; that the City of Toronto representative will need to submit his or her name to the World Secretariat by December 31, 1999, to be considered for election to the ICLEI Executive; and suggesting that the Striking Committee consider nominating Councillor Jack Layton as the City of Toronto's representative on ICLEI.
