Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation is pleased to introduce four district-specific guides to help make it easier for people with disabilities and special needs to participate in community recreation.
The division produced these guides in response to community feedback received from the Getting Services Right for People with Disabilities consultations.
The feedback collected from the consultations was used to develop the Getting Services Right for People with Disabilities research study, during which Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation discovered some of the reasons why more people do not participate in adapted and/or integrated recreational opportunities.
People who attended the consultation (families, program participants, caregivers, service providers and community members) asked for easier and specific access to information about:
