  • Night collection: crews work Monday to Thursday, 9 pm to 6 am
  • Multi-Residential Front-End Loaded (FEL) Container: crews work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 7am to 6 pm
  • Collection starts promptly on the routes at 7am for days and 9 pm for nights.
  • Night collection crews start at 6:00 pm.  They collect residential waste and litter bins (which are also overflowing when people are out walking the streets in warmer weather) on main roads (i.e.: Danforth, Queen, Eglinton, Lawrence, Bloor etc.). The goal is to have these vehicles off the roads during rush hour and out of the transfer stations before 7:00 am in the morning.

Winter Collection

Collections are delayed by the weather conditions. The City of Toronto stresses safety for staff. Snow, icy conditions and parked cars can slow the operations down.

Yard waste Collection

Yard waste begins in mid-March and ends in mid-December, the volumes of material at the curb are far beyond regular volumes on the collection route. Spring is a much heavier time for collections because residents are cleaning out garages, moving and buying furniture which also increases the waste and recycling overflow at the curbside. Crews will be out on the road until at least 5:00 or 6:00 pm.
