The City of Toronto provides winter maintenance on select park pathways across the city. These pathways will provide residents with an opportunity for longer walks during the winter months. Additionally, there are eight marked, unmaintained snow loops on the City’s golf courses for walking or snowshoeing.

For a list of Winter Walks, please visit the City website.

If you wish to report a park pathway or parking lot that requires snow clearing or salting, contact 311 to be referred to the park supervisor.

Note: Internal pathways with "No Winter Maintenance" signs are not cleared of snow.

Park pathways connecting to TTC routes, schools, arenas and community centres are cleared after 8 cm of accumulation, within 24 hours of snowfall.

Each supervisor has route schedules that are followed by their crews. There are schedules for plough trucks, sidewalk tractors, sanding and salting units, and handwork. Handwork is also done by the equipment crews at certain locations on their routes.

The maintenance practices between sites and within each site might vary depending on local conditions or particular environmental conditions. Some paths within a park might be ploughed if the path cuts across it to a transit station, whereas other paths wouldn't be.

Two trails are cleared by the City, the Marting Goodmain Trail and the Humber Bay Shore Trail
