Report a maintenance issue with grassy areas and sports fields including mowing, trimming and playing surfaces. The City of Toronto Parks Branch is responsible for maintaining these areas.
Grass cutting in City parks is performed by turf crews who cut grass on a regular schedule, weather permitting. Grass is cut every 5 working days during peak growing season (generally May and June) and every 7- 10 working days during slower growth in the summer and fall months (July to October).
Sports field crews are responsible for the quality of the playing surfaces of soccer fields, football fields, cricket fields, baseball diamonds and other sports pitches in parks. The frequency of work is determined by the type of sports field. Information on type of sports fields and frequency of grass cutting can be found on the city’s Facility Classifications & Ratings page.
School sports fields are owned and maintained by school boards. Please contact the appropriate school board if you have a concern about one of these.
If you would like to discuss the grass cutting in a City park, contact 311 to be connected with the park supervisor.
