If you experience a sudden loss of water or low water pressure, Toronto Water can investigate and resolve the issue. Possible causes include frozen pipes, water main breaks, scheduled maintenance, or closed valves. Service requests can be submitted online or by calling 311.

Immediate Action

  • If you are experiencing a sudden loss of water pressure, contact 311 to submit a service request.
  • Before submitting a request, check if your location is affected by scheduled or ongoing work on the No Water Map.
  • For no water during cold weather without prior notice from Toronto Water, your pipes may be frozen.

Common Causes of No Water

Water loss may occur due to:

  • Water being shut off from the City’s main water box
  • Water main breaks in the area, which may turn off street water
  • City water service relining or other maintenance work affecting your home
  • Stop and waste valve being turned off
