Help us improve the AI Register by completing our feedback survey.
The City of Toronto’s AI Register is a public record of how the City is using artificial intelligence (AI) for programs and services, providing residents, visitors and businesses with insight into the design and review of AI tools.
To ensure that AI tools are ready for use, the City reviews the potential impacts of AI for alignment with the Principles for the Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence established by the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario and the Ontario Human Rights Commission.
The City governs all technology, including AI, ensuring it meets required legislation and policies, including accessibility, cyber security and information and privacy standards.  AI tools are regularly tested and monitored for performance ensuring that human oversight and feedback improve and enhance digital services over time.
City Council adopted the Digital Infrastructure Strategic Framework in 2022 (EX31.7), which called for the publication of an AI Register.
