The City is improving Goulding Community Centre as part of a state-of-good-repair program to upgrade the facility.
The project will be delivered in multiple phases. The timeline is subject to change.
Phase 1 construction for the community centre was completed in 2023 apart from the front lobby. A metal, roll-up shutter (called a fire shutter) was installed at the new reception counter in January 2024 and refinishing work will continue until March 2024. During this time, there will be limited access to the front lobby area.
Phase 2 construction for the outdoor pool change rooms was completed in 2023 and the outdoor pool opened in June 2023. The installation of a new shade structure for the outdoor pool deck will continue from March to May 2024.
Phase 3 construction for the ice arena referees room, washroom, staff office and change rooms will occur from April to August 2024.
Phase 1 construction for the community centre will continue until September 2023. During this time, there will be limited access to some of the change rooms and the lobby area.
Phase 2 construction for the outdoor pool change rooms was completed in August and the outdoor pool opened in June, as planned. The installation of a new outdoor pool deck shade structure will continue from September 2023 to May 2024.
Phase 3 construction for the ice arena and change rooms will continue until early September. Some work will take place for the change rooms from April to June 2024.
Phase 1 construction for the community centre will continue until July 2023. During this time, there will be limited access to the washrooms, multi-purpose rooms, gymnasium, change rooms and lobby.
Phase 2 construction for the outdoor pool change rooms started in April and will continue until July 2023. During this time, there will be limited access to some change rooms. The outdoor pool area is planned to open on June 25. The installation of the pool deck shade structure will start in September 2023.
Phase 3 construction for the ice arena and change rooms started in May and will continue until September 2023. During this time, there will be no access to the ice arena and change rooms area.

Phase 3 construction for the ice arena and change rooms is anticipated to start in May and continue until September 2023. During this time, there will be no access to the ice arena and change rooms area.

Goulding Community Centre is located at 45 Goulding Ave., just south of Steeles Avenue on the west side of Yonge Street. The facility has an indoor arena and three multipurpose rooms for various activities.

A majority of construction for this phase was scheduled from April to June 2023 and included upgrades to the shared change rooms for the arena and pool. Installation of a new shade structure on the outdoor pool deck is planned from March to May 2024.
