The City is planning improvements to Goulding Community Centre as part of a state-of-good-repair program to upgrade the facility’s mechanical systems and improve accessibility to the washrooms and change rooms.

  • September 2022: Construction begins
  • August 2023: Construction complete

The project will be delivered in multiple phases. The timeline is subject to change.

September 2022

Phase 1 Construction Starts

Construction for the community centre starts and is anticipated to continue until April 2023. During this time, there will be no access to the washrooms, multi-purpose rooms, gymnasium change rooms and lobby.

Goulding Community Centre is located at 45 Goulding Ave., just south of Steeles Avenue on the west side of Yonge Street. The facility has an indoor arena and three multipurpose rooms for various activities.

The community centre is being improved as part of a state-of-good-repair program and includes the following improvements:

  • Public washrooms and changing rooms upgrades
  • Mechanical, HVAC, electrical and refrigeration systems upgrades
  • Multi-purpose room upgrades include flooring and millwork
  • Accessibility improvements including accessible change room and washroom

The state-of-good repair improvements to the community centre will be delivered in multiple phases.

Phase 1: Community Centre

Construction for this phase is scheduled from September 2022 to April 2023 and includes upgrades to the mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems, the washrooms, multi-purpose rooms, gymnasium change rooms and lobby. During this phase, there will be no access to these spaces.

Phase 2: Indoor Arena and Pool Area

Construction for this phase is scheduled from April to June 2023 and includes upgrades to the arena and pool change rooms. During this phase, there will be no access to these spaces.

Phase 3: Indoor Arena

Construction for this phase is scheduled from May to August 2023 and includes upgrades to the arena change rooms, arena lobby and the inclusion of an accessible arena change room. During this phase, there will be no access to these spaces.
