A new splash pad is coming to Dr. Daniel Hill Park. The design will be shaped through community engagement and is proposed to include water and spray features, upgraded pathways, and new seating and gathering areas.

    Level of Engagement

    This project has been classified as a Consult project based on theĀ International Association of Public Participation Spectrum. This means we collect and consider public feedback on proposed design options to inform the development of a final splash pad design.

    January 2026

    Online Survey

    From December 8 to January 11, an online survey collected feedback from 184 respondents on the splash pad design options and water play features.

    In-Person Pop-Up Event

    On January 7, the project team held a pop-up event at Broadlands Community Recreation Centre from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. to collect feedback on the splash pad design options and water play features. Approximately 10 community members participated in the event.

    Splash Pad Design Options

    The new splash pad will be located south of the existing playground.

    1. New splash pad on slip-resistant concrete surfacing
    2. New shaded seating areas on concrete paving

    Two design options for the splash pad will be presented to the community for feedback, which will inform the development of a final design.

    Both designs comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, include about the same number of water play features and cost about the same amount.
