The City is expanding Franklin Park by 2,565 m², creating new opportunities for recreation and enjoying nature. The park will be expanded toward Franklin Avenue and Cameron Avenue, and will include a trail network to the Stuart Greenbelt to the south. The design for the park expansion area will be informed by community feedback, while complying with regulations to protect the site’s natural heritage features.

This project has been classified as a Consult project based on the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) Spectrum. This means the City will seek feedback from community members during Community Engagement Phase 1 to help inform the development of design guidelines for the design of the park expansion, and during Phase 2 to select and refine a preferred final design.
