The City is making state-of-good repair improvements to the air conditioning system and replacing the roof at St. Lawrence Community Recreation Centre and Co-operative Daycare. The new chiller and air conditioning system will be installed after the roof improvements are completed.

The design is 60 per cent complete. The project is on schedule, with construction set to begin in the summer of 2025 and finish by the spring of 2026. The next step is preparing tender documents for construction bidding.
The consultant has completed the site investigation and submitted a site analysis and condition assessment report, which includes design options for the roof and chiller improvements.
On August 15, the project team had a kick-off meeting at the community recreation centre to officially start the project.
On July 18, a design team was hired for the project.
On March 27, the project team met with the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Association to provide an update on the progress of the facility’s air conditioning system, which is not operational.
