Toronto City Council will be considering recommendations to pass a by-law to amend City of Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 27, Council Procedures, Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 397, Community Safety Zones, and City of Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 950, Traffic and Parking in order to streamline the procedure for the introduction of traffic calming measures on local and collector roadways in Community Safety Zones (including the lifting of a previous moratorium) and School Safety Zones

It is proposed that the by-law be adopted at the Council meeting to be held on May 23, 2018 or at a subsequent meeting.

The proposed amendment to the Municipal Code is outlined in the report titled “Next Steps on Traffic Safety Measures”. At its meeting to be held in Committee Room 1, Toronto City Hall on May 8, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. or as soon as possible thereafter, the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee of Toronto City Council will hear in person, or by his or her counsel, agent or solicitor, any person who wishes to speak to the matter.
