Training Opportunities for Housing Providers

The City of Toronto offers training resources for housing providers. Registration information for courses can be found below. Online demos and modules can be accessed directly through the links below.

The next Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association’s (ONPHA), “The New Simplified Administration of RGI Toronto Course,” will run from April 16 through to June 11, 2024.

This course provides participants with an overview of RGI simplification and the City of Toronto’s local rules and guidelines. Successful completion of this course is mandatory for all new RGI administrators in the City of Toronto, regardless of whether new administrators have completed any previous training on RGI simplification.

Access to Housing provides online training to housing providers who use the Centralized Waiting List to fill Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) vacancies. Training is delivered biweekly on Thursdays. Anyone using or accessing the RENTCafé system is required to complete this training.

To register complete the following:

  1. Download the MyAccesstoHousingTO – RENTCafé User Agreement form.
  2. Complete the MyAccesstoHousingTO – RENTCafé User Agreement.
  3. Complete the RENTCafé Training Enrollment Form where you will be required to upload the completed MyAccesstoHousingTO – RENTCafé User Agreement.

Once you have completed these steps, Access to Housing will process your registration and send you the following:

  • One week prior to training, confirmation of enrollment
  • Two days before training, a Webex meeting invitation
  • On training day, a reminder notice
