Residents of Willowdale are invited to attend a virtual public meeting on October 7, 2026, to learn about basement flooding risks, the City’s work to reduce flooding and steps you can take to help protect your home.
During heavy rainfall, sewers, roads, rivers and streams can become overwhelmed. When this happens, the risk of basement flooding increases. The City is working to improve its complex system of underground pipes, sewers and catch basins to help reduce flooding risks. However, municipal infrastructure alone cannot completely protect homes from basement flooding. Homeowners also play an important role in protecting their property.
