Property owners are required to schedule a final inspection upon completion of their project to close the building permit.

The final inspection ensures that all necessary requirements of the inspection process have been fulfilled so the permit may be closed.  Open permits may impede future real estate transactions and/or may complicate future application for building permits.

To close your permit, please book a final inspection through the building inspection portal.   If you are unsure whether your permit is closed, please visit the inspection status report or  the Building Permit Application Status portal  to determine the status of your permit.

To close a sign permit please contact the Sign Bylaw Unit.
