Description of Service / Summary
The City of Toronto provides residents with clear information about garbage and recycling collection, including annual schedules and Waste Management Guides. Collection schedules and guides are available by mail, online, and in accessible formats. Residents can also access their personalized schedules and set reminders using the TOwaste app, ensuring proper waste set out throughout the year.
2026 Waste Collection Schedules:
- Waste collection schedules are being sent starting in December. Information about proper waste set out is also included on the back.
- The 2026 waste collection schedules are also available online.
- Schedules with larger print and icons are available upon request by contacting 311.
2025 Waste Collection Schedules:
- Waste collection schedules were sent to most residential locations as the last page of the utility bill and feature information about proper waste set out on the back.
- The 2025 waste collection schedules are available online and via the lookup tool.
- Residents are also able to access their collection schedules and get reminders about what waste to set out when with the TOwaste app.
- Schedules with larger print and icons are available upon request by contacting 311.

- The 2026 Waste Management Guide will be mailed to all houses, apartments and condos in December.

Note: Single-family residential includes houses and dwellings with 8 units or less.
