Booking a Chamber to hold a Wedding Ceremony:
- The City of Toronto has 3 wedding chambers that the public can rent to use for a ceremony – they are located at the North York, Scarborough and York Civic Centres (details below).
- The booking is for the room only. A marriage officiant is not included.
- You can book a wedding chamber by appointment only online
- For assistance booking a wedding chamber or to book an appointment to come in, please call 416-392-7036 or email marriage@toronto.ca.
Cost:
- The fee is $117.10 for a 30 minute booking (HST included), payable by debit or credit card. If you require additional time beyond 30 minutes, you must book additional time in 30 minute blocks.
- This fee is non-refundable. If you need to reschedule your booking please email marriage@toronto.ca.
You must arrange for:
- A marriage officiant to perform your ceremony (the City does not arrange for marriage officiants)
- Two witnesses for your ceremony
- A marriage licence
- Music - a sound system is provided for CD’s, MP3s, iPods and smartphones (you will need to provide your own music and audio cable if needed)
Description of Chambers:
1. North York Civic Centre:
Address: North York Civic Centre, 5100 Yonge St., Lower Level (On the west side of Yonge Street, five blocks north of Sheppard Avenue)
Availability: Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Maximum Occupancy: 40 people
2. Scarborough Civic Centre:
Address: Scarborough Civic Centre, 150 Borough Dr., (North-west corner of McCowan Road and Ellesmere Road)
Availability: Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and Holidays: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Maximum Occupancy: 22 people
3. York Civic Centre
Address: York Civic Centre, 2700 Eglinton Ave. W., (1 block west of Keele Street, north side)
Availability: Monday to Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday and Holidays: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Maximum Occupancy: 25 people
Getting a Marriage Licence:
Couples can book an appointment to get a marriage licence by visiting the City of Toronto Website .
- The City of Toronto only issues the marriage licence, the City of Toronto does not perform weddings and/or issue marriage certificates.
- To find an officiant a couple can do an internet search for "wedding officiant, Toronto". There are many available in the Toronto area.
- Once they have found an officiant they can confirm that the officiant is registered by visiting the Service Ontario website.
Toronto Civic Wedding Chambers:
Toronto Civic Wedding Chambers, Toronto City Hall, 3rd floor, East Tower, is a private business which leases space at City Hall, please visit their website .
- Capacity: Seats 15, standing room for 15
- Pictures and/or videos may be taken during the ceremony provided there is no disruption of the ceremony.
