Update Your Payment Profile with Your New Property Information
If you have recently bought, sold, or moved, be sure to follow these steps before making your first payment for your new property:
- Verify that the first property tax bill, property tax account statement and/or utility bill you received for your new property is in your name.
- Locate the assessment roll number on your property tax notice, and/or the account number and client number on your utility bill.
- Sign in to your online banking profile and ensure the correct payee is selected (City of Toronto Property Tax/City of Toronto Utility Bill – or similar variation).
- Update your new assessment roll number (21 digits) and/or your new utility account number with client number (20 digits).
- Remove any outdated payee information from your payment profile, to ensure your information remains accurate and up to date.
Completing these steps will prevent you from remitting payment to your previous property.
