In order to report a missing or damaged organic bin, the owner or property manager must place the request.
 
The following information will need to be provided:
  • Business or Organization Name
  • Service Address
  • Serial number of the damaged bin
  • Details of the damage
  • The location of the bin
  • Onsite contact information
The bin will need to be kept empty and accessible for repair or replacement.
 
To order additional bins or to replace missing bins, visit the City of Toronto website.
 
If claiming the missing or damaged cart was caused by City Staff, they will need to witness the accident and provide proof of damage due to City operator, such as:
  • Truck number,
  • Name of operator (if available)
  • Or description of operator, and time of day.
The complaint will be investigated. If approved, City issued bins will be repaired/replaced at the City's expense.
 
If there is no proof provided, you must repair or replace the bin at your own expense.
 
Note: The cart must have been purchased from the City of Toronto in order to be repaired or replaced at the City's expense.
