Today, the City of Toronto held a ceremonial unveiling of BTS Boulevard on Yonge Street in North York to celebrate BTS’s upcoming Toronto performances as part of the group’s Arirang World Tour. The temporary street designation extends along Yonge Street from North York Boulevard to Finch Avenue, which will remain in place until Wednesday, September 23.

The Councillor Ward 18 was joined by community partners and guests for the ceremony. The BTS Boulevard signs feature a red design inspired by the visual branding of the current tour.

Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23 have also been proclaimed as BTS Weekend in Toronto. BTS will perform two sold-out concerts in the city, drawing thousands of fans from across Canada and around the world. To mark the occasion, the Toronto Sign at Nathan Phillips Square will be illuminated in purple, a colour widely associated with BTS and its fan community.

Approved by Toronto City Council, the BTS Boulevard initiative encourages residents and visitors to celebrate BTS Weekend and Toronto’s vibrant Korean Canadian culture. Visitors exploring BTS Boulevard can learn more about local Korean-owned businesses through the Yonge North York BIA’s Korean Vibe Guide, which also maps all 20 BTS Boulevard street sign locations along Yonge Street.

Following the installation period, the ceremonial street signs are expected to be donated to NeighbourLink North York for a free giveaway. Details will be announced by the organization at a later date.

The City thanks Sunray Group of Hotels for its donation supporting the production of the BTS Boulevard signs.

Information on street sign locations is available on the Yonge North York BIA’s website.
