This weekend, the City of Toronto is opening outdoor splash and spray pads for the summer.
From Saturday, May 21 until Sunday, September 18 splash and spray pads will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. More information, including locations and maintenance closures are available on the City’s Splash and Spray Pads webpage.
Splash and spray pads are unsupervised water play areas activated with push-button features. There are more than 140 spray and splash pads in City parks and they include water features such as shower heads and spray jets. Caregivers are reminded to supervise children at all times while visiting splash and spray pads. City wading pools will open in late June.
“We’ve already had a few hot, early spring days and there will be more to enjoy in the summer months ahead. Splash and spray pads are a wonderful way to cool off when temperatures rise. Best of all, they are fun and free. Thank you to everyone who has worked swiftly to open the splash and spray pads.”
– Mayor John Tory
“The City’s splash and spray pads will open for the summer this long weekend. Splash and spray pads are great places for Toronto families to play and cool off in the warmer months.”
– Councillor Jennifer McKelvie (Scarborough-Rouge Park), Chair of the Infrastructure & Environment Committee
