News Release
April 29, 2022

The City of Toronto is extending the submission deadline for restaurants to participate in the popular Summerlicious 2022 program to May 6 at 11:59 p.m. Interest for Summerlicious remains strong across Toronto and the City is working quickly to extend the deadline and give more restaurant operators added time to register in response to the high demand.

Based on feedback from the industry, the City has made significant changes to Summerlicious for 2022, including new timing; waived fee for all participating restaurants; greater flexibility for restaurants to set menus and price points; and a simplified online application to make it easier for restaurants to participate.

Restaurants interested in participating in the Summerlicious 2022 modified program should review the application and registration process and criteria before submitting the online application. Confirmation of participation in Summerlicious 2022 will be communicated directly to restaurants in May. More information about Summerlicious 2022 restaurant participation and registration is available at www.toronto.ca/licious.

The City’s popular Summerlicious program is returning this summer from August 12 to 28. Summerlicious 2022 has been designed to make it easier for restaurants to participate and to encourage more Toronto residents to dine-in and celebrate the city’s diverse culinary scene.

Summerlicious will help drive business to local restaurants, protecting jobs and contributing to the growth and sustainability of the industry workforce. The program will help the local industry generate much-needed revenue while also encouraging and building confidence in people so that they choose to safely enjoy indoor and patio dining again.
