Team Toronto is working through the weekend to help residents get vaccinated against COVID-19.
Thousands of eligible residents will be able to get their first, second or third COVID-19 vaccine dose at Team Toronto clinics across the city this weekend.
This ongoing effort to help residents get vaccinated includes five City-run clinics as well as clinics being held by hospital partners. In addition, residents can book appointments at 525 local pharmacies and many doctors’ offices across the city.
As part of the ongoing work to increase Team Toronto’s vaccination capacity through the Toronto Omicron Action Plan, the City is constantly working to add new COVID-19 vaccine appointments. Yesterday alone, the City added 8,500 appointments at City-run clinics for this coming Sunday and Monday. Some appointments for anyone 12 or older are still available for Sunday and Monday and can be booked through the provincial booking system.
Current Team Toronto vaccination efforts to get people vaccinated include rolling out fourth doses to residents in the City’s long-term homes and expanding opportunities for education workers and students to get vaccinated over the coming days. Vaccination clinics with dedicated appointments for education workers will be held at two City-run immunization clinics tomorrow, January 9. Two additional clinics will take place next Sunday, January 16. The City is working with the school board to fill dedicated appointments for those clinics.
More than 939,000 eligible Toronto residents have now received their third dose of COVID-19 vaccine. According to the latest numbers from January 4, 89.5 per cent of residents 12 and older have at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 86.7 per cent of residents 12 and older have two doses. More than 46 per cent of kids aged five to 11 now have their first dose; seven per cent have two doses.
Since December 2020, more than six million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered by Team Toronto as the progress to help residents of all ages get vaccinated continues.

City-run immunization clinics
The five City-run immunization clinics continue to add new appointments for first, second and third doses of COVID-19 vaccine. To book an appointment, click the blue “Book a Vaccine” button on City of Toronto COVID-19 or call 1-833-943-3900. City-run clinics are easily accessible by transit and offer free parking on site. Clinic staff are also able to provide resources in multiple languages. A person with a vaccination appointment can also bring a support person to help with translation.
While City-run clinics and health care partners across the province await further shipments of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine later this month, all City of Toronto-run clinics will administer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to residents 30 years of age and older.
People with vaccination appointments are asked to arrive no more than 10 minutes early to vaccination clinics. There will be vaccine doses available for everyone who has an appointment; arriving earlier than necessary does not impact availability. There are no walk-in appointments at City-run vaccination clinics. Given the emergence of the new Omicron variant and ongoing community transmission of the Delta variant, Toronto Public Health urges all eligible residents to book their third-dose appointment. Residents who have not yet received their first or second COVID-19 vaccine shot are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. COVID-19 vaccines lower the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death, while protecting oneself, loved ones and the community.
Residents should also continue to follow public health measures such as mask wearing, good hand hygiene and physical distancing.
