The Indigenous Arts Festival returns this weekend to Fort York National Historic Site. The festival is a free, community-focused event in celebration of traditional and contemporary Indigenous music and dance, along with artisan and culinary experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples living across Turtle Island and Indigenous communities around the world.

The Indigenous Arts Festival is presented by the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Na-Me-Res, Dashmaawaan Bemaadzinjin (They Feed the People) and the City of Toronto. The program is made possible, in part, by the Government of Canada and sponsorships from Bell and Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and media partner ELMNT FM.

Dates: Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19

Time:  noon to 6 p.m.

Location: Fort York National Historic Site, 250 Fort York Blvd.

Festival highlights:

Na-Me-Res Annual Traditional Pow Wow with drummers and dancers – noon (Grand Entry) to 6 p.m., June 18

Music, theatre, live art, dance and comedy on the ELMNT FM Stage – noon to 6 p.m., June 19
