Representatives from Toronto Public Health (TPH) and The 519 will explain the community-based approach to administer the monkeypox vaccine to high-risk groups.

The 519 is hosting one of two Saturday monkeypox vaccination clinics from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The other clinic will take place at Metro Hall, 55 John St., from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Public Health Ontario updates monkeypox data in Ontario on Tuesdays and Fridays. As of Tuesday, June 13, there have been 18 laboratory-confirmed cases of monkeypox reported in Toronto, plus nine probable cases and 14 suspect cases under investigation. Monkeypox spreads through contact with body fluids such as fluids from the monkeypox lesions, contaminated clothing or bedding, or through respiratory droplets following prolonged face-to-face contact. It can also be spread through bites or scratches from infected animals.
Anyone can contract monkeypox, but during this outbreak, in a number of countries, gay, bisexual and men who have sex with men have been affected. More information about monkeypox is available on the City of Toronto’s Monkeypox webpage.
