Starting tomorrow, Toronto Public Health (TPH) will take over operations of the COVID-19 mass immunization clinic at Thorncliffe Park Community Hub located at 45 Overlea Blvd. TPH will continue to offer COVID-19 vaccines at the site and introduce Hepatitis B, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and Meningococcal vaccines for youth and more health services to support the local community.
The transition of this COVID-19 mass immunization clinic from East Toronto Health Partners, the Ontario Health Team serving East Toronto, to TPH represents the next phase of this partnership that began in March 2021. It will ensure that local residents continue to have convenient access to COVID-19 vaccines while being offered more health services to help with COVID-19 recovery.
Effective Thursday, May 26, the Thorncliffe Park Community Hub clinic will be open Monday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will operate by appointment or on a walk-in basis to provide first, second, third, fourth and paediatric doses of COVID-19 vaccine to eligible residents. An Ontario health card is not required.
Appointments for Hepatitis B, HPV and Meningococcal vaccines for youth will soon also be available for eligible students to book on the TPH Appointment Booking System.
TPH continues to encourage residents to stay up-to-date with their COVID-19 immunization, including all booster (third and fourth) doses for the best protection against serious illness linked to COVID-19 and its variants. Recent data shows residents who kept up-to-date with their vaccinations were better protected against serious consequences linked to the virus when compared to those who were unvaccinated or under vaccinated.
First, second, third and fourth doses of COVID-19 vaccine are also available by appointment or walk-in across the five City-run immunization clinics. Residents can also get their doses at more than 525 local pharmacies that are offering the COVID-19 vaccine, Indigenous-led vaccination clinics, select primary care offices and other Team Toronto health care partner clinics.
