As summer ends and Torontonians transition back to their busy fall routines, Toronto Public Health (TPH) refreshes its focus and moves pop-up vaccination clinics indoors to community gathering places and transit hubs where residents live, work and play. Continuing Team Toronto’s equity-focused, hyper-local mobile strategy, TPH will offer COVID-19 vaccinations, including the bivalent COVID-19 booster dose, to all those eligible at the following locations on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25:
TTC fare payment is not required to access Vax And Ride vaccination clinics at TTC subway stations. Facemasks will be required at all clinics.
These family-friendly and youth-friendly clinics will provide first and second doses, as well as booster COVID-19 doses, to eligible residents aged five and older on a walk-in basis, with no appointments or a health card required. Pfizer, Moderna and the new Moderna Spikevax® Bivalent (50 mcg) COVID-19 vaccines will be offered to those who meet the provincial eligibility criteria.
A full list of clinic locations and hours can be found on the City of Toronto’s COVID-19: Pop-Up Immunization Clinics webpage.
Residents can also get vaccinated at City-run immunization clinics, primary care offices and more than 525 pharmacies. A full list of participating pharmacies administering COVID-19 vaccines is available on the provincial webpage: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/vaccine-locations.
For those who prefer to plan ahead, all six City-run immunization clinics are offering scheduled appointments for COVID-19 vaccination. Pfizer, Moderna and Novavax vaccines are available. Novavax vaccine appointments can only be booked through the TPH booking site. A full list of clinic locations and hours is available on the City’s COVID-19: Where to Get Vaccinated webpage.
Vaccinations for children six months to under five years of age are by appointment only at City-run immunization clinics. Residents can book an appointment online (https://covid-19.ontario.ca/book-vaccine/) or by calling the provincial booking system at 1-833-943-3900 (TTY 1-866-797-0007).
All eligible residents are encouraged to get their first and second doses, as well as booster COVID-19 doses, as soon as possible. An autumn booster dose is recommended for all persons aged 18 and older, regardless of previous doses received. As Torontonians head indoors during the colder months, the bivalent vaccine may better protect against Omicron variants and will provide additional protection. COVID-19 vaccinations have been scientifically proven to lower the risk of illness, hospitalization and death while protecting people, their loved ones and the community.
