As of January 1, 2026, the City is no longer responsible for residential recycling collection. To request blue bin (recycling) repair, visit the Circular Materials website or call 1-888-921-2686.
Residents with damaged garbage bins or Green Bins (organics) can request for the City to repair the bins.
Eligibility

You receive waste collection from the City.
Your garbage bin or Green Bin is damaged or has graffiti.
How to Request a Repair
Make sure you have the following information ready before submitting a service request:
Full name
Email address
Phone number
Address
Bin serial number (located on the front of the bin). When submitting the service request, ensure the serial number shown in the form matches the serial number on the bin you have. If the serial number does not match, submit a report for a missing garbage bin or missing Green Bin. Examples of serial numbers:
Garbage bin: #65G######
Green Bin: #26O######
Exact location of where the bin will be placed on your property for repair (must be accessible and visible from the street)
The front of a Green Bin and garbage bin showing where the serial code is located.
Place your bin on your property where it is accessible and visible from the street for the repair. (Do not place the bin in your backyard, behind a gated fence, etc.)
Your bin can be placed at the curb on your usual collection day. Once emptied, your bin should be placed back on your property.
If you have laneway collection, place your bin at the front of your property for repair.
What to Expect
Most bins are repaired within five business days.
There will be two attempts to repair your bin. If staff cannot locate your bin on the first attempt, they will leave a notice and a second attempt will be made within five business days.
If your bin has not been repaired or replaced after the two attempts have been completed, please submit another service request.
