Centre Island, via ferrydocks at 9 Queens’ Quay W

An interactive garden for kids and families on Centre Island. The Franklin Children's Garden is inspired by Franklin the Turtle, the celebrated series of books written by Paulette Bourgeois, illustrated by Brenda Clark and published by Kids Can Press: a Corus Entertainment Company. The garden is divided into six sections where children can enjoy gardening, storytelling, and visits with seven child-accessible sculptures from the Franklin the Turtle series.


Recreation Facilities:

Gardens, Storytelling amphitheatre, treehouse, pond for wildlife viewing.

How to get there:

Take the Centre Island ferry from the ferrydocks. Walk towards Centre Island. The garden is located behind the Toronto Island Nature School.

Daily tours of the Franklin Children's Garden and Junior Sprout Gardening activities are available for summer.

Unilever Snail Trail

The Unilever Snail Trail is a key lookout point to see the wetland wonders of Turtle Pond. Children delight as they explore its winding trail and flower-filled meadow of plants alive with butterflies and other critters.
