The Franklin Children’s Garden:
Flowers, fascination and fun on the Toronto Islands
An exciting new garden for kids and families now open on Centre Island.
The Franklin Children's Garden is inspired by Franklin the Turtle, the celebrated series of books written by Paulette Bourgeois, illustrated by Brenda Clark and published by Kids Can Press: a Corus Entertainment company.
The garden is a special place to play in and learn from, to discover nature, and to enjoy the great adventure of learning. Experience the garden and its delights on your own or take part in the many events. There will be so much to see and do every day!
Dig!
Find out how plants grow as you dig in the dirt, sow seeds or weed and water. All at the Kids Can Press Little Sprouts Garden.
Take pleasure in the magic of stories!
Enjoy superb free storytelling and performing arts from Canada's best children's performers at TD Storybook Place.
Hide and Seek!
Get lost in the vine tunnel, explore the treehouse and then enjoy a visit with bronze sculptures of Rabbit and Franklin.
Learn about wetlands!
Observe turtles, frogs and birds in their very own pond.
Climb!
Ascend the spiral walkway of the Unilever Snail Trail to the highest point on the Toronto Islands. At the top, binoculars provide a panoramic view of the garden.
Discover!
Find the child-accessible bronze sculptures of Franklin and his friends situated throughout the garden to hug, touch or just make you smile. Franklin, Bear, Rabbit, Goose, Beaver, and Snail are all there and waiting for you to visit.
