Development Proposal

In March, 2011, the City received rezoning and site plan approval applications for a proposed development at 154 Front Street East consisting of two condominium towers at 24 and 34 storeys in height, connected by a common podium varying in height from five to seven storeys.

In September, 2011, the applicant submitted Committee of Adjustment and Site Plan Approval applications for a temporary surface commercial parking lot on the same subject property.

In November, 2011, a revised submission from the original redevelopment proposal was received, proposing a similar built form consisting of two 26-storey towers, again connected by a common podium, ranging in height from three to nine storeys.

What's New

Community Consultation Meetings – The first community consultation meeting was held on June 28th, 2011 to present the original proposal and receive feedback. A subsequent community consultation meeting to review the revised proposal is scheduled for January 16th, 2011. View the meeting notice.

The application has been appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board.  View the appeal application and letter. The OMB File Number is PL111300.  View the OMB appeal's status.

Design Review Panel - The proposal was presented and discussed at the City of Toronto's Design Review Panel on July 12, 2011. View the minutes of the Panel Hearing.  For more information visit the City of Toronto's Design Review Panel website.

Community Council Meeting – The preliminary report was presented to Community Council on May 25, 2011. A final report has not yet been presented to Community Council.
