The City is undertaking a study of Avenue Road between Lawrence Avenue and Wilson Avenue. The primary focus of the study is to create a framework for any new development which would include new zoning and urban design guidelines.
The study will also examine possible improvements to open space, environmental conditions, the streetscape, community services and facilities and transportation. The reconstruction of the road and sidewalks is already underway and additional monies have been dedicated to planting more trees on the boulevard, decorative paving and other enhancements.
The City has hired a project team led by the firm of Brook McIlroy/Pace Architects to work with area residents and businesses to complete the study by the end of 2007.
More information from the study will be posted as it becomes available.
