St. Lawrence Neighbourhood Urban Design Charrette

St.Lawrence SketchThe On September 22 and 23, 2004, an urban design charrette was held for the western section of the St. Lawrence Neighbourhood (bordered by King Street, Yonge Street, Jarvis Street and the railway south of The Esplanade). The charrette was undertaken to help develop a neighbourhood planning framework to guide development applications in the area. Five charrette teams addressed improvements to the public realm and looked specifically at 7 development sites in the area. The results of the charrette will inform staff and the community in reviewing development applications, and assist in the development of urban design guidelines and a community improvement project area plan by the second quarter of 2005.
