"Cabbagetown Days"
September 3 - 7, 2003
| WHEREAS: |
the Cabbagetown Cultural Festival is an annual event that celebrates one of Toronto's oldest and most unique neighbourhoods and attracts thousands of visitors and tourists to our City; and |
| WHEREAS: |
Cabbagetown is a vibrant community in the heart of our busy City, and this Festival celebrates the pride small business owners show in their traditions and accomplishments, and reflects the spirit of this eclectic community; and |
| WHEREAS: |
a grand parade, street fair, arts and craft show, musicians, outdoor patios, other festival favourites and fun events can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from different backgrounds and walks of life; and |
| WHEREAS: |
a walking historical tour of the area and the Tour of Homes is available to anyone interested in learning more about the Cabbagetown community and its glorious Victorian architecture. |
| NOW, |
| THEREFORE: |
I, Mayor Mel Lastman, on behalf of Toronto City Council and the 2.5 million people of our great City, do hereby proclaim September 3 - 7, 2003 as "Cabbagetown Days" and encourage everyone to participate in this exciting event. |
