Naturopathic medicine is a unique and comprehensive approach to improving health and treating illness; and
WHEREAS:
Naturopathic Doctors focus on prevention using therapies and treatments which optimize the health of their patients, providing primary health care without the need for drugs or surgery; and
WHEREAS:
Naturopathic Doctors are celebrating 78 years as regulated primary health care practitioners, and during Naturopathic Medicine Week they are offering free testing and information at a variety of clinic locations; and
WHEREAS:
more people are turning to Naturopathic Doctors for credible, scientific knowledge integrated with traditional healing wisdom.

THEREFORE:
I, Mayor Mel Lastman, on behalf of Toronto City Council and the 2.5 million people of our great City, do hereby proclaim March 22 - 29, 2003 as "Naturopathic Medicine Week"
