"Be Kind to Animals Week"
May 2 - 8, 2004
| WHEREAS: |
every year the Toronto Humane Society hosts "Be Kind to Animals Week", to promote responsible animal care, honour the outstanding contributions of people on behalf of animals and the animals themselves, and celebrate the importance of animals in our lives; and

| WHEREAS: |
the Toronto Humane Society is dedicated to the care and protection of all animals and the prevention of cruelty and suffering; and
|
| WHEREAS: |
the doors never close at the Toronto Humane Society. It provides a safe haven for lost, injured, homeless and abandoned animals in Toronto and the surrounding area; and
|
| WHEREAS: |
the Toronto Humane Society offers a wide variety of services including adoption, emergency rescue, micro-chipping, spay/neuter, animal cruelty investigation, fostering and education.
|
| NOW, |
| THEREFORE: |
I, Mayor David Miller, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim May 2 - 8, 2004 as "Be Kind to Animals Week" and encourage residents to care for their animals and be responsible pet owners.
