"Beta Sigma Phi Week"
April 25 - May 1, 2004
| WHEREAS: |
this year Beta Sigma Phi in Toronto is celebrating its 73rd anniversary; and |
| WHEREAS: |
as the largest organization of its kind in the world, Beta Sigma Phi has approximately 250,000 members who belong to chapters located in over 30 countries; and |
| WHEREAS: |
Beta Sigma Phi provides members with opportunities to contribute to their community, develop leadership skills and lifelong friendships; and |
| WHEREAS: |
members of "The Friendship Organization" give generously of their time and talent to hold fundraising events for local charities, health and cultural agencies and provide assistance that helps enrich the quality of life for those less fortunate. |
| NOW, |
| THEREFORE: |
I, Mayor David Miller, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim April 25 - May 1, 2004 as "Beta Sigma Phi Week" to recognize the valuable service and tremendous contributions all Beta Sigma Phi members make to the success and well-being of our community. |
