Proclamation
"Big Brothers and Big Sisters Month"
September 2004

WHEREAS: Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto is a wonderful service organization that provides guidance, support and companionship to young boys and girls.
Today, our young ones face tremendous challenges and it is encouraging to know that they benefit tremendously from mentors that provide valuable friendship, influence and leadership qualities. Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto rely heavily on the strength and dedication of volunteers who, through their commitment and support, make it possible to provide an invaluable service - being a friend to one in need.
This year's goal is to expand the recruitment drive in order to serve more children and youth in the City of Toronto and I encourage everyone to participate in the various programs this organization provides.
NOW,
THEREFORE: I, Mayor David Miller, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim September 2004 as "Big Brothers and Big Sisters Month".
